The storm is only the beginning
Heavy rain, hail, high winds and falling trees can open a building in minutes. A missing section of shingles, a broken window or a limb through the roof lets water pour into attics, ceilings and walls. Every hour a storm-damaged building remains open, more water gets in and the damage grows.
Mold PE Services responds to storm damage in Alamo, NV with emergency protection first. Our crews tarp roofs, board broken windows and doors and set up to extract water from affected areas. Stopping new water from entering is the most important thing we do on the first visit.
Tracing where the water went
Storm water follows gravity and structure. It soaks attic insulation, runs down along rafters and top plates, and appears as ceiling stains in rooms that may be far from the point of entry. It can also enter through foundation walls when rain overwhelms drainage.
We inspect attics, ceilings, walls and lower levels with moisture meters and thermal imaging. Wet insulation is removed, since compressed and soaked insulation rarely performs well after drying. Ceilings that have sagged are taken down safely. Drying equipment is placed throughout the affected areas and monitored until readings confirm dry conditions.
Repairs inside and out
Exterior repairs to roofing, siding, gutters and windows are coordinated with appropriate trades so the envelope is sealed before interior finishes are replaced. Inside, we install new insulation and drywall, repair ceilings, replace damaged flooring and trim and repaint.
Storm damage claims often involve several adjusters or policies. We document the damage from both the exterior opening and the interior water intrusion, which helps adjusters understand how the loss happened and what needs repair.

Storm Damage Restoration questions
Emergency tarping is scheduled as soon as it is safe to work. During widespread storms, the coordinator will give a realistic time.
Wind and hail damage is often covered, while flooding from rising water usually requires separate coverage. Check your policy.
Soaked insulation loses effectiveness, dries slowly and can support mold growth.
